Gearing up for 2010

What the South Africa Online Travel and Tourism Industry (OTTI) needs to do

The 2010 FIFA World Cup will focus the world's attention on South Africa with consequences for the Travel and Tourism Industry that will long outlive the event. While this sector has the potential to capture a large share of income, online inefficiencies will hinder the growth needed to elevate this industry to a similar status enjoyed by international counterparts.

The OTTI research seeks to recognise and encourage innovation and sound user-centric thinking among those responsible for the development of online strategies for the Industry. It will set the benchmarks in practice, uncovering trends, conventions and plain good ideas. Ultimately it seeks to be a resource and reference point for the Internet in the South African Travel & Tourism Industry, increasing awareness of the value of the Internet for the Industry, not only for themselves, but also as ambassadors for South Africa in the global travel and tourism Industry.
